Brookside fields a PGA Junior League team from May through July. Children play on a team, wear a jersey with their name on the back, and compete against other clubs in nine-hole matches.
Matches are two-player scrambles, so teammates play the better ball and no child is ever alone with a bad shot. Scoring is by holes won rather than total strokes. A beginner and an experienced player can be on the same team and both contribute.
The season runs five practices and five home matches, with expert coaching throughout and a junior party to close it out. Registration includes a team kit with two jerseys, a hat or visor, bag, bag tag and PGA Junior League membership.
Junior golf runs Thursdays through the summer, separate from the league, for children working on their game at their own pace.
Tennis begins at age three and continues through a competitive junior team with weekly practices and Thursday matches. Summer clinics are drop-in, which means no season-long commitment and no wasted fees when a week gets away from you.
Four mornings a week through June and July, with meets against area clubs, and a junior squad for the five to eight-year-olds who are not ready for the full schedule.
Unmarried children living at home may use the club through their twenty-second birthday, extended to twenty-four for full-time students and those serving on active duty.
Programming through the year is built for families as much as for adults: the Nine-Hole Family Scramble, the Family Fun Run, Touch-a-Truck, Family Game Night, a kids pizza-making and cooking class, Trivia Night and Teen Night at the pool, and Dive-In Movie Night.
Membership details and current fees are available from the Membership Office.
